Thankfully it’s rare to see scrunchies in anyone’s hair these days, but the ridiculous hair accessory has found a new purpose: A U.S. company called Birdsbesafe has created a pet collar that looks just like a scrunchie, and they say when cats wear them, it reduces the number of animals kitty kills by 54 percent. The collar is frilly and colorful, making your little serial killer more visible to birds, lizards, and other mammals with good color vision. In case you were curious, birds reacted best to rainbow collars and red collars in experiments. Would you make your blood-thirsty feline wear one of these funny-looking collars if it meant your backyard wildlife would stay safe? (Mashable) (Image: Pixabay.com)

Shelley’s note: P.S. Many studies on domesticated cats show the average life span for an outdoor cat is only 3 years. Also, please make sure Felix and Felicia are neutered or spayed to prevent their unnecessary suffering and that of their unwanted kittens. Thanks!
