ssmpucThe PUC has released its planned activities for this week.  The bulk of the work will be on Water Operations Activities affecting Upton Road, McMeeken Street and Elizabeth Street.  In all cases, a temporary water supply will be connected to existing mains during reconstruction work on those roads.  In addition, testing will continue for about 25 hundred city fire hydrants.  This work is being done through the summer to make sure all hydrants are functioning properly.  There are plans to continue the Unidirectional Flushing Program that has already resumed in the city’s east end.  Flushing for this week will be done in an area bounded by Trunk Road to Chambers Avenue and Gibbs Street to Dacey Road.  Customers are asked to visit the PUC website for regular flushing activity updates.  Meantime, crews will get a break as tree-trimming activites are being deferred to June 1st, except for tree removals requested by customers.  A line-clearing contractor is assisting Algoma Power Forestry crews in preparing an area for an electrical infrastructure upgrade this week.
