SSMPSCity police are seeking public assistance in their investigation of a traffic accident involving a motor vehicle and a bicycle on Trunk Road near White PInes Collegiate around 5:45 Friday night.  Police say a male cyclist in his early 20’s was attempting to cross the roadway when he was struck by a passing motorist.  the motorist failed to remain at the scene.  The bicyclist received minor injuries. A 22 year old local man is facing several charges after being stopped by city police for erractic driving. It’s alleged the driver was showing signs of impairment while speaking to police.  He was chargd with failing to provide a breath sample, having care and control of a motor vehicle with an alchol level over the legal limit and being a disqualified driver.  Matthew Blair Leask of 32 Southwood Drive is scheduled to appear in court on June 29th.

A shoplifting incident at the Walmart on Great Northern Road has resulted in charges against 27 year old Jacob David Leonard of 406 Sydenham Road.  He is accused of stealing an electronic item from the store. His court date is June 22nd.
