An unidentified Sault, Michigan woman leapt from a second floor apartment window on Ashmun Street early yesterday morning to escape a fire that was contained to her unit.  She was taken to hospital with non life threatening injuries.  One of two dog in the apartment didn’t survive.   Other residents were evacuated as a precautionary move, and the fire remains under investigation.
