Renaissance Place Corp – owners of the former Northern Breweries site and failed condo development project – have been found guilty in absentia of non compliance with an order issued in November of 2013 that they repair the roof and ceiling of the Bay Street structure.  City prosecutor Matthew Caputo tells the Sault Star that their no-show in court was not unexpected as several subpoenas and notices of trials had been ignored.   The company will find out what the penalty is next week – with the prosecutor seeking the maximum of $100,000 … noting that the city has been forced to spend thousands of dollars to secure the site.
