There was a widespred power outage affecting more than 7600 PUC customers in the central and eastend of the city late yesterday afternoon … covering an area from Trunk Road to Second Line … from Pine Street to the city limits … and throughout a good section of the downtown.   For some it was just a minor glitch … for others it lasted a couple hours, until about 7:30.    The cause remains under investigation.
