ForestFireThe MNR reported only one new fire in Northeastern Ontario on Monday.  Sudbury 34 is a fifth of a hectare in size and is located off the shores of Lake Huron.  There are 10 fires burning in the northeast right now — 7 are being observed in the far north. Notable blazes are Sudbury 33 under control at a fifth of a hectare in size and Kirkland Lake 6 under control at 6 hectares.  The forest fire hazard is currently low to high in the northeast — with the greatest risk of fires in an area from Sault Ste. Marie to North Bay.  Ontario continues to supply personnel and equipment to fight forest fires in western Canada.  Most of the 200 personnel are in Alberta and B-C.  Further deployments from Ontario are scheduled for Alberta and Saskatchewan this week.
