The Michigan DNR reports that the 2014 deer harvest was down by 15 per cent from the year before … with the decline even greater in the U-P at close to 36 per cent.  They cite back-to-back severe winters and the deep early snow as contributing factors.   Close to 615,000 Michigan hunters bagged about 329,000 deer last year.
