DNRThe Michigan Department of Natural Resources is awarding almost 250 thousand dollars for the Iron Belle Trail.  The money is being awarded for planning, engineering and design projects along the hiking or bicycle route of the trail.  The list includes 33 hundred dollars to build at 250 foot raised walkway on North Country National Scenic Trail in Chippewa County.  It also highlights more than 14 thousand dollars to build and maintain new and existing sections of trail in Marquette County. A total of 50 thousand dollars will go towards engineering nearly seven miles of trail in Gogebic County and Delta County in the Upper Peninsula.  Some of the work will include that involving viewing and fishing platforms for trail users, along with decking and handrail grades for bridges.
