(SAULT STE. MARIE, ON – September 17, 2015): A delegation from Qujing Normal University in China was on campus this week, signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Algoma University, further cementing Algoma U’s commitment to cross-cultural learning.
The new international collaborative academic partnership reached between Algoma U and Qujing Normal University (in Qujing, Yunnan Province, China) works to foster and promote international relations between the two post-secondary institutions. This new agreement contributes to Algoma University’s commitment to cross-cultural learning, internationalization, and diversification.
This partnership will allow for future short-term and long-term student and faculty exchanges, joint programming, collaborative research opportunities, and enriched campus learning environments.
“I am pleased with the positive results of the Qujing Normal University visit,” said President and Vice-Chancellor of Algoma University, Dr. Craig Chamberlin. “Algoma University continues to solidify relationships with post-secondary institutions around the globe, which in turn will provide our students with a unique learning experience, whether on our own campus or in another country.”
This is Qujing Normal University’s first partnership with a Canadian post-secondary institution. This is the first time abroad for several of the delegates from China. The group travelled to Canada specifically to sign the MOU with Algoma U.
