SaultMICity Water Department crews in Sault, Michigan will begin flushing and flow testing fire hydrants on Sunday night.  The work will be performed overnight from 11:00 p.m. until 5:00 a.m.  The work is necessary to make sure the fire hydrants are working properly and to determine how much water is available to the city’s Fire Department.  During this time, some customers could experience short periods of discoloured water caused by rust removed during the flushing process.  No health hazard is expected to result, but affected residents should check the water for discolouration prior to doing laundry as it causes staining.  Any residents with questions or concerns can call the Water Department at 906-632-3531.
