SSMPSCity Police charging a couple of impaired drivers last night.  Officers answered a complaint about a possible impaired driver in the area of Arden Street around 9:30.  Police found a vehicle in the ditch upon arrival.  It was determined by police that the vehicle allegedly a structure and then backed into the ditch.  Police have charged 58 year old Brian Newell with having care and control of a motor vehicle while impaired.  He also faces a charge of failing to provide a breath sample after refusing to provide one at police headquarters.

The City Police Ride team stopped a vehicle on Bay Street just after 11:30.  According to police, the accused showed signs of impairment and was asked to provide a breath sample.  The accused, 52 year old Jeffrey McLeod, was charged with having care and control of a motor vehicle after consuming more than the legal limit of alcohol.  Both accused will appear in  court on October 19th.
