SSMPoliceCity Police received a call to the Rod and Gun Club yesterday afternoon.  The call was over an unintentional discharge of a firearm.  An initial investigation has determined that a 16 year old boy was struck by a .22 calibre bullet.  He was flown by air ambulance to Ottawa for further treatment.  The investigation is ongoing — no further details are being released at this time.

Police also responded to a call yesterday morning in the city’s west end.  An investigation revealed that a woman was allegedly banging on the door of the victim’s residence.  It’s also alleged that the accused was found to be in an intoxicated state.  The accused — 61 year old Linda Karchie — was arrested for 3 counts of breach of undertaking.  Officers also charged a local man on a drunk driving offence.  It’s alleged that officers were conducting RIDE checks on East Street near Albert Street.  An investigation determined that the accused failed a roadside screening test after his vehicle was stopped.  35 year old Michael Tremblay of Second Line West faces a charge of driving over the legal limit.  Both accused are scheduled to appear in court on November 16th.
