According to a new Newsy video, studies have proven that having a cat at home says a lot about a person’s character, health and dating life. Research shows that cat people are usually introverts, especially compared to dog owners, who are normally more outgoing and energetic. Cat owners have also been found to be smarter, more non-conformist and more sensitive but also earn fewer health benefits than dog owners. (Huffington Post) (Image:commons.wikimedia.org)

The above article was condensed from the original.  Although I am currently a cat lady, I started out as and still am a dog person.  I simply love all animals, but some species are easier (for me) to live with than others.  And it’s kinder to a dog to not leave it with 5 cats! However, I digress.  I must say I disagree with most of the findings.  Cat people are not more introverted, they are simply more accustomed to having their commands (or in cat language – suggestions) ignored.  If cat people were smarter, they probably wouldn’t tolerate that, or the endless scooping and 10 to 1 odds by the end of the day there’s going to be a fur ball stuck between their toes if brave enough to venture around the house bare foot. Cats are perfectly fine if you conform to them, and cat lovers learn to deal with the pain when their fur baby gets onto their lap and uses claws much the same way a pole climber uses their spurs.    As far as the dating life goes…ah well, I’ve got no debate points.   ;)   ~Shelley
