Supplied by Sault Area Hospital… Sault Ste. Marie, ON – Sault Area Hospital (SAH) was honoured with a 2015 Quality Healthcare Workplace Award (Gold Level) at the Ontario Hospital Association’s (OHA) HealthAchieve annual conference on November 3. This is the second consecutive year that SAH has received a Gold status for this award.

Sponsored by the OHA and the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care, health care organizations from across Ontario participated in this awards program and raised the bar of excellence for quality health care workplaces. The awards are designed to encourage self-evaluation, learning, and improvement. A high-calibre adjudication panel of quality workplace experts completed a rigorous assessment process when reviewing all the candidates, which focused on identifying drivers of employee and organizational health.

“Not only have we achieved many of our workplace goals, but there is clear evidence that workplace improvements contribute to quality patient care,” says Ron Gagnon, President CEO. “The award recognition was made possible through the dedicated contributions of all our staff, physicians and volunteers who strive to make SAH a quality workplace.”
