SaultMIThree bridges in Sault, Michigan will soon have some rehabilitation work done to them.  A request for approval of an MDOT contract for work on the Spruce Street, West Portage Avenue and Fort Street bridges is expected to be approved by the City Commission on Monday night.  The Michigan Department of Transportation is providing 95 percent of the funding with the City paying 5 percent, plus engineering fees.  The 206 thousand dollar work will include concrete patching and epoxy overlay of the decks, as well as other minor capital preventative maintenance.

City Commissioners will also receive status reports on a pair of topics on Monday evening.  The Final Draft of the Sault, Michigan Master Recreation Plan continues to be available until January 22nd at City Hall or at the Bayliss Public Library.  Comments can be mailed to or dropped off to the City Clerk at City Hall on East Portage Avenue.  The final draft has been available for public viewing since December 18th.  The second report highlights the city’s three outdoor ice rinks.  The rinks will be open daily during January and February, with the exception of the rink at the Tennis Courts at the Norris Center, which is only open on certain days of the week:
