Community policing has been taken to another level by the city police force with the introduction of the Notification of Community Crime program.  It’s a property crime prevention initiative that has already been put in place with success in Sudbury according to Police Chief Robert Keetch who saw the program first hand prior to his move to the Sault.  The program is made up of student volunteers through the Police Foundations Program at Sault College and Algoma University’s Law program and they are deployed to problem areas and make direct contact with residents to make them aware and provide them with information to prevent crime…
