SAULT STE. MARIE, ON (25 April 2016) – PUC would like to advise customers that the work scheduled in the area of Dacey Road and Chambers Avenue for today (Monday, April 25th) has been postponed.
The work has been rescheduled for tomorrow morning (Tuesday April 26th).  As a result, there is a possibility customers in the area could draw discoloured water tomorrow, between the hours of 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM.  This is due to a flow reversal within the water distribution system in the area. The flow reversal could occur when a section of the Dacey Road watermain is shut off to connect a new watermain to the system. Customers are asked to contact PUC Customer Care should they experience discoloured water or any unusual change in water quality.
In the event Customers notice that their water is discoloured, they should:
o Turn on a cold-water tap (to keep the sediment out of the water heater) and let the water run for a maximum of 15 minutes.
” It is best to use a bathtub tap or a basement laundry tub, as there is no screen to trap any sediment.
o If the water does not clear up after 15 minutes of flushing, turn off your tap and wait 30 minutes and try again. If the water does not clear up after two 15 minute flushing cycles, please call PUC Customer Care at 705-759-6522 Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and 705-759-6555 at all other times.
We regret any inconvenience this may cause, and wish to thank everyone for their understanding and cooperation.
