Dogs and humans have a very special bond, and this means your dog is aware of when you’re angry…

Recently, scientists at Brigham Young University discovered dogs are actually less trusting of us when we’re angry. Published in the journal Animal Cognition, researchers had volunteers point in the direction of a hidden dog treat, and observed how quickly dogs reacted to the combination of gesture with facial expression and vocal tone. They found that gestures combined with positive expressions and vocalizations had no greater effect than neutral gestures had on the control group of dogs, but dogs reacting to a volunteer expressing negative emotions and vocal cues took longer to react to the pointing gesture. This suggests pooches trust angry humans less than happy or neutral ones. (UPI)
