news-essar steel algoma     Essar Steel Algoma pleaded guilty in Sault Ste. Marie Court and was fined yesterday 60-thousand dollars in connection with a slip-and-fall injury involving a worker.  The employee while making his way to work on March 11th, slipped and was injured on a build-up of ice in a slope across a designated walkway. The court also imposed a required 25% victim fine surcharge in accordance with the Provincial Offences Act.   Earlier this year the company was fined 100-thousand dollars for an August 2014 incident in which three workers were injured in a steam emplosion.
