news-essar steel algoma   Essar Steel Algoma pleaded guilty and was fined 100-thousand dollars for failing to report the release of lime dust to the federal Environment Ministry and Climate Change as required under the Environmental Protection Act. The Ministry determined that Essar continued to operate the lime kiln with the bag house off line for 4 days in November of 2014 which resulted in the release of lime dust into the air.  The company also faces a victim fine surcharge of 25-thousand dollars.
