Sault Ste. Marie, ON – Sault Ste. Marie motorists are reminded that effective Tuesday, November 1 there is no parking of vehicles on city streets during the winter months.
Under By-law 77-200, parking is prohibited on city streets between midnight and 6 a.m. from November 1, 2016 through to midnight April 30, 2017.
Vehicles that remain parked on the street during an overnight parking restriction will be ticketed. Persons who disobey this By-law will receive a $15 fine and may have their vehicle towed. If your vehicle is towed, you are responsible for the additional cost of the towing and compound storage fee.
The By-law remains in effect even when there is no snow. Weather predictions may be incorrect and when snow occurs officers from the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service are kept busy tagging and towing cars to assist Public Works crews with snow removal.
The City of Sault Ste. Marie thanks motorists for their cooperation to help keep our streets clear of snow this winter.
