Sault Ste. Marie, ON – Mayor Christian Provenzano and the Mayor’s Committee on Celebrate Canada 150 co-chairs, Councillor Susan Myers and Councillor Judy Hupponen, will paint their way into Sault Ste. Marie’s history Tuesday, February 14 at the Ermatinger•Clergue National Historic Site – Heritage Discovery Centre.
Registrations for one-hour tile painting sessions have been received from across the community. The sessions will take place on February 14 and 15.
The mural will be composed of 400 individually-painted four-inch tiles. Once assembled, it will stand eight feet high by eight feet wide, and will depict a defining image of our community.

Sault Ste. Marie is one of 150 communities from across the country that has been approached to participate in the Canada 150 Mosaic Project. The City’s mural will be connected virtually to other community murals online at Canada150Mosaic.com.
Once completed, the mural will be mounted, clear-coated and photographed. It will be unveiled during Multiculturalism Day on June 27, 2017 and will be permanently displayed in Sault Ste. Marie.
