The Rotary Club of Sault Ste. Marie has been an active part of the community since 1918. Its primary charitable mandate is to offer support to children with physical disabilities. This is done in close partnership with Easter Seals Ontario through fundraising projects such as the Take Your Pick Car Draw, Snowarama, TD Canada Trust Change for Change in the Lives of Easter Seals Kids, Easter Seals Telethon and Battle of the Sections. The club also supports community-building events like ROTARYFEST, Rotary Youth Exchange, Bell Celebrity Skate and Swim Presented by Agero, Rotary Science Fair Algoma presented by Tenaris, and the Rotary Santa Claus Parade.
2017 marks Easter Seals Ontario’s 95th anniversary of serving children and youth with physical disabilities. Since 1922, with the help of our generous donors, Easter Seals has been offering programs and services that enable kids to experience freedom and independence and focus on what they can do rather than on their limitations. Easter Seals helps by providing financial assistance for mobility equipment, communication devices and fully accessible summer camp opportunities at its two properties, Camp Merrywood and Camp Woodeden. Easter Seals relies solely on the generosity of donations from the public to be able to offer its programs and services. For more information, visit www.easterseals.org.
