Calling all callers to support Easter Seals Kids
An ultrasound result; a visit to the pediatrician; a child forgets to look both ways – life can change in an instant. Would you be able to afford a $32,000 power wheelchair tomorrow? Could your budget cover a lifetime’s worth of incontinence supplies? How easy would it be to raise $5,000 for the communication device needed to give a voice to someone without a voice? These are just some of the reasons why Easter Seals Ontario is here: to help the families of kids with a variety of disabilities and medical conditions, including cerebral palsy (CP), spina bifida, muscular dystrophy (MD), spinal muscular atrophy (SMA), Rett syndrome, and spinal cord injuries.
Our local Sault Ste. Marie Easter Seals Telethon is on Sunday, March 26, from 12:00 noon to 6:00 p.m. and we are still in need of phone panelists. Just a little donated time can make a huge difference. Panelists are trained for 30 minutes and then work a phone for 45 minutes (that’s less time than watching a movie).
A panelist’s job is to accurately and legibly record pledges. We also encourage our phone panelists to call out to family, friends, co-workers for donations, and we offer incentive prizes for those who do so.
Phone panelists can join us as individuals or represent an organization or special interest group.
If you are interested in participating or have any questions, please contact Carolyn O’Connor at 705-945-1279 or by e-mail at coconnor@easterseals.org.
2017 marks Easter Seals Ontario’s 95th anniversary of serving children and youth with physical disabilities. Since 1922, with the help of our generous donors, Easter Seals has been offering programs and services that enable kids to experience freedom and independence and focus on what they can do rather than on their limitations. Together, we make a difference for kids in the community who need our help. Easter Seals helps kids BE KIDS.
