Some friends were driving up the Chapleau Highway a few weeks ago and remarked about the number of turtles in the area that were laying their eggs. As seasoned out doors people, they knew to not bother the creatures, unless it was to help them get well across the highway. According to this article 7 of the 8 species of turtles in Ontario are at risk, mostly due to unsuccessfully trying to cross roads and highways. Click here for more. Image: Wikimedia Commons
