A Ministry directive that had suspended admissions to Cedarwood Lodge in Sault Ste. Marie has been lifted.
The suspension had been put in place in late March after 15 areas of non-compliance were identified following inspections carried out at the 50 bed long term care home in the former F.J. Davey Home.
At that time Karen Simpson the Director of the province’s Long-Term Care Inspections Branch stated in her order that recent findings of non-compliance was posing serious risk or harm to the health or well being of the residents.
A letter was sent out on August 10th to the Northeast Local Health Integration Network stating that admissions to Cedarwood Lodge can resume effective immediately.
The facility opened in 2015 and was meant to provide residents with a temporary placement while they awaited placement at another long-term care home.
