News-Police Flashing Lights

The lock-down of two Sault, Michigan schools has been lifted.
Sault, Michigan Police Chief John Riley says the the measure was put in place after an anonymous threat was made on social media against the Sault Area High School—the threat was posted at approximately 7:30.
Both the Sault Area High School and the nearby Sault Middle School on Marquette Avenue were put in lock-down meaning no one was allowed into or out of the buildings.
Both the Board and police indicated that school remained in session and the students were safe.
The Chippewa Country Sheriff’s Department is investigating a similar type incident that occured at the Rudyard Area Schools yesterday.
The Sault Police Department is working with the Sheriff’s Department to see if the two incidents may be connected in some way.
