For the first time in almost four years, there was an increase in crossings at the International Bridge last month compared to September of 2016.
The last time there was an increase was back in October of 2013.
Traffic volume on the 2.9-kilometre structure last month was up slightly by 1% with three of four vehicle classifications increasing—the only decrease was seen in the commuter fare numbers which was down .9%—-it represents over 46% of total crossings.
Commerical truck traffic is up 2.9% for the year, after 9 consecutive months of steady growth.
Bridge truck traffic provides almost 40% of all bridge toll revenue.
