Supplied by Rotary Club of Sault Ste. Marie…
Rotary’s Battle of the Sections will take place Saturday, January 13 at the Essar Centre when the Soo Greyhounds face off against the Mississauga Steelheads. The pass-the-cup fundraiser is organized each year through the Rotary Club of Sault Ste. Marie in support of Rotary Youth Projects including Easter Seals Ontario, a charity that provides programs and services to children and youth with physical disabilities.
Everyone at the arena can donate, and the section that donates the most per person will receive cow bells sponsored by Final Touch Services to ring during third period and future games. To mark the club’s 100th anniversary, ten additional prizes will be distributed to seat-holders determined by a draw.
Come out to cheer on the Greyhounds, support Rotary Youth Projects, and see local Easter Seals Ambassador, Isobel Farstad, drop the puck.
For 100 years, the Rotary Club of Sault Ste. Marie has fostered service, leadership, and good works in our community. Founded in 1918, our mandate to support children with physical disabilities has been the heart behind the hard work of hundreds of Rotarians spanning generations. We invest in the Sault’s youth through Rotary Youth Exchange, Rotary Science Fair Algoma, Rotary Sports Awards Dinner, scholarships, local projects such as the Rotary Adventure Playground, and partnerships with Easter Seals Ontario and THRIVE. Every year, we enjoy hosting tens of thousands of people at our community-building events, including ROTARYFEST, The Sault’s Summer Festival! It is only because of dedicated Rotarians, tireless volunteers, and our extremely generous community that the Rotary Club of Sault Ste. Marie has had the privilege to give back millions of dollars and touch countless lives. Thank you for being part of our first 100 years of service. To learn more visit www.RotarySault.com.
