City police have arrested a man who reportedly was armed with a syringe in carrying out robberies involving two businesses back on February 21st and arrested a local woman with possession of stolen property.
On Monday, the Sault Police Service’s Break and Enter Unit arrested 34-year old William McDonald of Wallace Terrace and 34-year old Rosemary Pheasant of Hughes Street.
One of the reported incidents involved a business in the 600-block of Wellington Street as it is alleged that a man threatened an employee with the needle and made off with cash and other merchandise from the store.
The other incident later that same day involved a business in the 200 block of Bay Street where it is alleged the accused took just under $100 of merchandise and attempted to leave without paying.
When approached by a staff member, it is reported that the accused pulled a syringe out and threatened a staff member before fleeing the area.
