Four Sault Ste. Marie youth are preparing to represent Northern Ontario at the Canadian Youth
Bowling Championship May 31, 2018 – June 3, 2018. The four will compete against sixty-four
Provincial Champions from across Canada.
Olivia Solomon, Ema Bowen, Aidan Bass, and Nathan Woods are proud to represent Sault Ste.
Marie at this prestigious event. The four qualified for Nationals with impressive performances
in March at the Provincial finals held at Northcrest Lanes.
This group are no strangers to National Competition, each has represented Northern Ontario
several times at the National level.
Over the last several weeks the team has been on the lanes gearing up to deliver exceptional
performances in Montreal. “I’m confident that our team is prepared to compete on the National
stage. They are a group of committed individuals driven to represent their province proudly”,
says Team Manager, Liisa Woolley.
The event will kick off with Opening Ceremonies on Thursday May 31, 2018 in Montreal, Quebec
and competitors will take to the bowling lanes for a 3-day tournament Friday. Tenpin youth
bowlers will compete for National Championship titles, in singles, doubles and team play. Four
Thunder Bay bowlers, , Lucas Jackson, Dawson Baxter, Kaylee Hofer and Brittany Woolley, will
round out Northern Ontario’s contingent.
