Sault Ste. Marie, ON (2018 06 25) – The following City facilities and services will be closed Monday, July 2:
Cemetery office
City Landfill and Household Hazardous Waste Depot
Civic Centre
Essar Centre office and Box Office
John Rhodes Centre arenas, McMeeken Centre, and the Northern Community Centre
Seniors Centres (Drop–In and Northern Community Centre)
Public Libraries – James L. McIntyre Centennial and Korah Branch Library
Public Works office. For 24 hour emergency service, call 705-759-5201.
Sault Transit office
Refuse & Recycling Collection
No collection Monday, July 2. Collection for the remainder of the week will be one day late.
Transit Services
Regular transit and Parabus service will operate July 1 (Sunday Schedule). No regular transit or Parabus service on July 2 (Monday).
Ermatinger?Clergue National Historic Site (ECNHS)
Open July 1 for Canada Day festivities including Parade of Paddles from the Sault Canal to the ECNHS with historic re-enactors on site and food packages including ‘lunch on the lawn’. The Site is also open on Monday July 2, 9:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Marine Facilities
Bellevue Marina is open 9 a.m. – 9 p.m. The public will have access to the pier to view fireworks on July 1 and vehicles are asked to park in the main parking lot at the marina. Dock access is restricted to boat owners. Roberta Bondar Marina and the Sault Canal recreational lock are also open 9 a.m. – 9 p.m.
Pools
The John Rhodes Community Centre Pool is open on July 1 for Parent/Child/Lane Swim 11:15 a.m. – 1 p.m. and from 1 – 3 p.m. for Public Swim. The Peter G. Manzo and V.E. Greco pools are open 1 – 7 p.m., weather permitting.
Canada Day Celebrations
Festivities will take place July 1 at the Roberta Bondar Park Tent Pavilion. Opening ceremonies begin at 2 p.m., followed by entertainment and attractions throughout the day with fireworks at dusk.
