by releasing a chip line of flavors called Lay’s
Tastes of America. It has eight different flavors
inspired by regional specialties from across the U.S.

It’s all about sequels this weekend at the movies.  The ABBA-soundtracked “Mama Mi! Here We Go Again” opens today. This is the follow-up to the 2008 blockbuster “Mama Mia!” Meryl Streep, Pierce Brosnan and Colin Firth are back for this one and Cher has been added to the cast.  Also opening this weekend is “Equalizer 2” starring Denzel Washington.

I don’t know how we would get this in Canada but it looks like Disney’s new streaming platform is gonna be a big deal.

In the US, Comcast’s decision to drop its bid for Fox means Disney’s 71-billion-dollar offer is likely to prevail. If Disney’s deal goes through, X-Men and other movies from Fox studios could be added to Disney’s service. Fox shareholders are set to vote on Disney’s offer next week.

While we’re waiting for that, Disney is releasing new episodes of the Star Wars animated series ”The Clone Wars” on its upcoming streaming platform. The 12-episode run was announced at Comic-Con in San Diego. The show is going to continue the story lines of Obi-Wan Kenobi, Anakin Skywalker and the young Jedi apprentice Ahsoka Tano.

Disney plans to unveil its streaming service in 2019.

The man who opened his U-S Armed Forces Radio show in 1965 and 66 with the line “Goooooood morning, Vietnam!” has died at the age of 79. Adrian Cronauer’s time in Saigon was the inspiration for the character played by Robin Williams in the 1987 movie “Good Morning, Vietnam.” Cronauer spent 21 years in television, advertising, teaching and freelancing before going into law and at one point served as an adviser in the Pentagon.

And if you’re going into withdrawal, the Toronto Blue Jays are back from the All-Star break tonight with a game at Rogers Centre against the Baltimore Orioles. Sam Gaviglio starting for the Jays and the game is on Sportsnet at 7:00 after Tim and Sid with Carolyn and Faizal.

Nilah Moss at the Sault Rotary Club office sent us a note at KiSS to let us know that the Take Your Pick ticket outlets are selling faster than usual this year and there aren’t a whole lot of tickets left for the car draw.

Pino Caputo is the draw co-chair and Pino says “We don’t want people who usually buy a ticket at the parade to be disappointed if there are none available, so we are letting people know now that we expect an early sell-out.”

Rotary has started collecting tickets from sales outlets in preparation for Saturday’s draw. Rotary volunteers are selling at their regular locations and there are tickets at the ROTARYFEST grounds while they last.

Got a reminder from Malcolm White at the City Clerks’ office that the municipal election is October 22.

so of course the question is, are you on the voters list.  And it’s not too early to check.

If you’re a Canadian citizen, you live here, own or rent property and you’re 18 or loder, you can vote.  If you want to find out if you’re on the list, go to voterlookup.ca, make sure you’re on the list and make sure your information is correct.

The list is managed by MPAC and you can log in with your address or assessment roll number, full name and date of birth.

And you can update your address and school support

Today, look for the Jackpot Radio post on the KiSS 100.5 Facebook page and tell us what you would do if you were the big winner in tonight’s Lotto Max draw.  We’ll pull a name for a $100 Lotto Max voucher.
