Terry Fox Runs are happening all across Canada this Sunday including here in the Sault at Roberta Bondar Pavillion.

#KiSS1005Mornings had the chance to speak with Terry’s older brother Fred Fox and local organizer Colette Michel-Fall about the run, about Terry Fox and about the history behind the event.

The 38th Annual Terry Fox Run is this Sunday September 16th, 2018 at the Roberta Bondar Pavilion!  It’s a run, walk, wheel and ride in support of Terry Fox Foundation for cancer research. The distances include 2 km, 5 km and 10 km along the St..Mary’s River waterfront & Canal Lock.  Everyone’s encouraged to join in on the Family Friendly Event!  There’s no entry fee, no minimum pledge, 100% volunteer driven.  Form a Team and “Team Up For Terry.”  You can register today at terryfox.org/teams.    You can recruit your friends, family and colleagues!

Registration opens:       8:30 a.m.
Opening Ceremony:     9:40 a.m.
Run, Walk, Wheel & Ride Start:  10:00 a.m.
M&M Food Market BBQ:      10:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

Other activities include a Kid’s Zone with popcorn, face painting, Balloon Artist, Inflatable Castle, music with a live band, and M&M Food Market BBQ (by donation).  As well as complimentary Tim Hortons coffee and Cake from Dominick’s Bakery.  This is a Family Friendly event!
