City council gave its approval in principle at last night’s meeting to the idea of a skating trail for our city.
Council accepted a recommendation from the City’s Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee for a pilot skating trail approximately 750 metres in length for the 2019-2020 winter season at Clergue and John Rowswell Park and that the projected over 36-thousand dollar cost be referred to the 2019 budget process.
City staff and the Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee will explore opportunities for partnerships to assist with the development costs.
