Tenaris Algoma Tubes has announced that it will be temporarily laying of 90 of its employees and will be shutting down operations for three weeks as of December 15th.
The move is being made to deal with market challenges which include a surge in tubular imports, a decline in export sales to the US as the tube mill deals with US Tariffs on steel and the price of oil and gas.
The company plans to resume operations on January 7th.
A statement from the company says Tenaris continues to work with industry and governments to address the market challenges.
