December 7, 20187–Sault Ste. Marie, ON – Terry Sheehan, Member of Parliament for Sault Ste. Marie announced today, on behalf of the Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development and Minister for Fednor, an investment of $588,000 in RBB Innovations Ltd. in the form of a repayable contribution, to undertake applied research and development activities over the next two years, to advance its One Human Service Network platform to new markets. The government of Canada has also made a CanExport contribution of $50,000 to RBB Innovations, to explore opportunities in the U.S. A.
MP Sheehan said he is “pleased the government is supporting the development of an innovative, cloud-based platform that is helping to create 23 jobs and provide a valuable service to the community.” The platform has been developed to facilitate the collection, organization, and retrieval of detailed personal information on children, youth, and adults with special needs, in Northern, rural, urban, and remote communities of Ontario.
Specifically, the platform securely hosts and integrates an array of public sector health and human services data onto one platform providing agencies, ministries and municipalities with multi-enterprise solutions, including integrated case management, and connects and facilitates service coordination across programs to improve service delivery, while reducing costs. The technology also offers residents a single point of access for programs and services in this sector.
Darryl Buck, President and CEO of the One Human Service Network says, “Our mission is to help transform child care services through partnership and innovation so people who give and receive services can be connected seamlessly and efficiently. The investment by FedNor is one of our largest investments to date that was absolutely critical in order to transform our software from tools to a cloud-based platform technology to better reach our mission. As a result, families are better served through a fully integrated child care service system.”
