City council has given the go ahead for our City to enter into a partnership with a California company to attract events to the GFL Memorial Gardens. The approval came at last night’s meeting.
Venue Coalition has worked with the City in the past and the agreement is for one year with the possibility of extending it to three years if it proves successful.
The agreement would be from this May 1st to April 30th 2020 at a cost of 13-thousand-500 US.
Venue Coalition books entertainment in 70 arenas in North America and has existing partnerships with Sudbury, Kitchener, Ottawa and Peterborough.

A Quebec company will be carrying out the dock replacement work at the Bondar Marina.
Council accepted a city staff recommendation to single source the work to Poralu Marine noting the marine company has already replaced some of the dock and single sourcing would allow for quicker installation in time for the busy boating season.
The work would be carried out within the 800-thousand dollars the City has budgeted for the work and the work is expected to be completed by mid to late June.
