Sault Ste. Marie, ON (September 3, 2019) – The community has a new Director of Tourism Sault Ste. Marie. Industry veteran Jennifer King-Callon began in the position today. She has more than 20 years of experience in the tourism and hospitality sector.

Tourism Sault Ste. Marie is a division of the Sault Ste. Marie Economic Development Corporation. The division works to draw visitors to the community by securing and supporting events, creating and selling vacation packages, attracting cruise ships and motor coach tours, developing tourism infrastructure and new products, and undertaking strategic marketing campaigns.

“We’re thrilled to have Jennifer now leading our Tourism division,” said Dan Hollingsworth, Executive Director of the Sault Ste. Marie Economic Development Corporation. “She has a wealth of experience in the field, and we’re excited to see her grow the local tourism industry as she takes on this new position within our organization.”

For the past eight years, Jennifer was Manager of Meetings & Conventions for the Sault Ste. Marie Economic Development Corporation. During that time, she facilitated a number of major events, including this summer’s 2019 Travel Media Association of Canada Conference, which attracted travel writers and industry leaders to the community. Prior to this position, Jennifer spent more than 12 years working in sales and senior level management positions at various local hotels.

“I look forward to continuing to work with our industry partners in my new role to grow the tourism sector in Sault Ste. Marie,” she said. “This is my hometown, and we have a great group of tourism and community partners working together. With this team approach, we’ll continue to drive economic growth.”
