Elliot Lake – Carol Hughes, (Algoma-Manitoulin-Kapuskasing NDP), Carol Hughes is officially opening her Elliot Lake campaign office Monday September 23rd. Everyone is welcome to drop by the campaign headquarters to meet Carol and her team.
“Elections offer a unique way to be involved in your community and to express your democratic rights,” said Hughes. “People coming together and trying to make a difference, no matter what party or campaign, strengthens our democracy.”
Hughes notes that even though every campaign is defined by different issues, the common thread of representation is always vital to the North.
“Ottawa always needs to be reminded that Northern Ontario is more than the sum of its resources,” said Hughes. “I entered politics to ensure the government understands the needs of the people who live here.”
Hughes believes that her strong relationships across the sprawling constituency have helped her represent this unique area.
“Algoma-Manitoulin-Kapuskasing is a big, diverse, and unique part of Canada,” said Hughes. “I have worked with people in these communities for decades, and in a variety of roles, and those relationships I have built along the way have been critical to performing my role as Member of Parliament.”
The campaign headquarters in are located at 12 George Walk, Elliot Lake. The event begins at 12:30 pm on Monday September 23rd – all are welcome.
Donations of non-perishable foods for the Food Bank will be collected.
