The annual Rotary Santa Claus Parade will take place this Saturday, November 23, 2019. We want to remind the public there will be road closures in the downtown area to allow the parade to run smoothly.
Starting at 4:30 p.m. Queen Street East will be closed from Elizabeth Street to Church Street. This area will be used as a staging area for the parade. Lower Church Street will also be closed from 5:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
Queen Street East is the main route for the parade so it will be closed between Church Street and Gore Street starting at 5:30 p.m. Queen Street East will re-open to traffic following the parade at approximately 8:00 p.m.
In order to provide a safe parade route, there will be no parking on Queen Street East from Church Street to Andrew Street starting at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 23. Any vehicle found parked along the parade route after that time will be towed from the area.
After the parade is complete, the temporary parking restriction will end, allowing the lawful parking of vehicles in the area.
We appreciate everyone’s cooperation to help us all enjoy this joyful event safely.
