When city council sits down later today to tackle its budget it will be considering a first-time financial request from Harvest Algoma.
The group’s Director of Operations Mike Delfre says the City needs more than just say they support our community’s poverty reduction strategy—-they need to step up with a real commitment.
Delfre says food security is one three pillars in the strategy and right now the full onus has been on the United Way in covering Harvest Algoma’s 400-thousand dollar annual operating costs…

Delfre says its important the City steps up and he is optimistic that there will be enough support on council…

Budget deliberations are scheduled for late this afternoon and tomorrow if needed.
