The Sault Ste. Marie Public Library will be closed starting 5:00 PM Tuesday March 17, 2020 until further notice as it increases its precautionary measures to help combat the spread of the Covid-19 virus.

We ask that patrons do not attempt to return materials while the Library is closed and instead wait until the Library reopens. No fines will be incurred by library patrons during this time.

We encourage the citizens of Sault Ste. Marie to take advantage of the Library’s many online offerings including audiobooks and ebooks through Overdrive and movies, TV shows, ebooks, audiobooks and graphic novels through Hoopla https://ssmpl.ca/reading-entertainment/digital-resources/ . The Library also offers online story times through its Tumblebook Library https://ssmpl.ca/kids/read-online/
Ontario’s public libraries are actively monitoring the evolving situation regarding the COVID-19 pandemic. Public libraries are working closely with local municipalities, public health authorities and Ontario’s library services agencies to make timely, responsible decisions about programming, services and access. For up-to-date information about the status please consult the Library’s website www.ssmpl.ca or reach out to us through social media.
