The latest numbers from Algoma Public Health as of early yesterday afternoon shows that 14-hundred-99 tests for COVID-19 have been carried out and out of that the number, there remains 12 positive tests.
There have been 1084 tests that were negative and 403 test results are still pending.
On the other side of the St. Mary’s River, the Chippewa County Health Department reports one positive test and 1 probable COVID-19 case out of the 126 tests conducted.
Like Algoma Public Health, the Chippewa County Health Department has also faced some heat from the public in not identifying where an individual who has tested positive resides in the county.
In addition, their Health Department does not report where the individual had been believing it will compromise privacy in what is a sparsely populated county.
However when case counts increase, the Chippewa County Health Department will consider providing that information to the public.
