Sault Ste. Marie Tourism Director Travis Anderson says our community is continuing to receive a significant amount of interest from producers, location scouts and other in the film industry inquiring about the Sault and its suitability for filming.
Anderson says a number of film shoots had been lined up for this summer and fall and some have now been delayed due to the current pandemic.
He received approval from council at last night’s meeting to enter into a licensing agreement with MGM Home Entertainment Distribution to allow for the use of a 30 second clip of a scene from the popular series Viking that was filmed in the Sault in season four.
It would be used by FutureSSM to market our community as a destination for filmmakers.
