Sault Ste. Marie, ON (2020 10 29) – The City of Sault Ste. Marie is launching its first Mayor’s Christmas Card Competition. Mayor Provenzano is inviting all elementary school aged children to take part in a competition to design his annual Christmas card by submitting a holiday drawing.

“Staying connected to friends and family has been more difficult than usual this year and a Christmas card is one way to show support and compassion for one another,” said Mayor Christian Provenzano. “Through this initiative we hope to encourage the festive spirit and the importance of connectedness, while also showcasing the talent of our local students.”

Three winning designs will be chosen as the Mayor’s official 2020 Christmas card. The cards will feature the winner’s drawing as well as name, age and school. The winners will also receive a gift certificate and a copy of the Christmas card personally signed by the Mayor.

For contest information and an entry form, go online to saultstemarie.ca./ChristmasCardCompetition. Entries will also be accepted through email at mayorsoffice@cityssm.on.ca or can be dropped off at the Ronald A. Irwin Civic Centre reception. Be sure to include your name, age and school. The deadline for submissions is November 15: the winners will be announced November 18.
