The Weeknd Is Considering A Name Change, Drops New Music Video

It looks like The Weeknd is considering changing his name.

He wrote on Twitter Sunday (April 3th) that he is considering legally changing his name from Abel Tesfaye to just ABEL.

maybe pull a YE and just legally change my name to ABEL. no last name. Like Madonna or Cher or Prince. I don’t know it seems like a lot.

The Weeknd, straight off a Grammy win for best melodic rap performance for his feature on Kanye West’s song “Hurricane,” also dropped his latest music video, “Out of Time.”
