Sault Ste. Marie – The Ministry of Government and Consumer Services’ 10th Supply Ontario Reverse Trade Show was held in Sault Ste. Marie for the first time today, announced David Orazietti, MPP and Minister of Government and Consumer Services.

“My ministry is committed to helping make it easier for businesses, especially those in the North, to do business with the Government of Ontario,” said Orazietti. “Reducing the burden on vendors wishing to do business with the provincial government is a win-win situation, as it better positions vendors to develop high quality bids and effectively respond to Requests for Bids while providing our government with access to a pool of diverse, engaged and competitive vendors across all industry sectors.”

Vendors attending this years’ show were from a variety of sectors, including IT, printing, insurance, contractors, construction, architecture, engineering, telecomm, tourism, and engineering.

Attendees learned how to become a supplier to the Government of Ontario, met with representatives from Ontario ministries, agencies and organizations from the Broader Public Sector, and participated in ministry information sessions.

Supporting the provinces businesses’ is part of the government’s plan to build Ontario up. The plan includes investing in people’s talents and skills, making the largest investment in public infrastructure in Ontario’s history, creating a dynamic, innovative environment where business thrives and building a secure retirement savings plan.

QUICK FACTS ” 88% of vendors who attended the 2014 tradeshow were from small or medium businesses. ” 31 representatives from the Ontario Government and 32 from the Broader Public Sector were on-hand to answer questions today. ” In the last three years the Ministry of Government and Consumer Services has organized six seminars in Northern Ontario covering doing business with multi-levels of government.
