The Norgoma will be up for discussion at what will be city council’s final meeting ahead of next month’s municipal election.
Our City’s Deputy CAO Tom Vair in a report to council for tonight’s meeting is recommending that the musuem vessel be permitted to remain at the Bondar Marina until mid-April or as soon as weather and or ice conditions permit when it will be moved to a new location.
City council had called for its removal by the end of August in a resolution approved back in April.
The report calls on the St. Mary’s River Marine Centre to finalize plans for a new location by the beginning of February.
It is further recommended that city staff work with the St. Mary’s River Maine Centre Board to help them find a new location for the vessel—-whether that be a permanent or temporary location so as not to interfere with marina operations next spring.
